In a world where anyone can spin up an app with a few prompts, what sets a designer apart is their ability to create work that rises above AI-generated slop. As a designer, if you want to stay relevant in the AI age, I strongly recommend learning at least CSS and Tailwind.
App functionality is vibe-coded and everything’s working. Next up is styling which I’ll have to handle myself, with minimal AI help.

Product designers need PERSUASION skills which is barely discussed. With stakeholders having different motivations, the ability to influence & rally people around your ideas is critical. The lack of this skill is often the result of frustration and burnout for most designers.

Models aside, the real winners will be the companies building IDEs from ground up for the AI era. Forking VS Code won’t cut it.
