After sitting with it for a few days, the only major problem I had with Superman is how much they showed him escaping the box in the trailers. The marketing was so focused around mostly just showing stuff from the first act, but seeing that really held back when watching the film

This dude on grindr the other day told me that he had GHSV. I didn’t know what that was so I googled it but accidentally typed in GSHV and spent a solid five minutes being extremely confused trying to figure out how humans got ground squirrel hepatitis.

This sucks and is totally unnecessary. It only serves as a mark against the film. Advertising should make folks excited, and something like this is only going to drive people away who otherwise would be interested, especially when the other trailers were so well received.

This has really let me down. Always heard it was a great work of subversive fiction, but it has no substance. Just: “isn’t this scene with a lot of shit/rape/puke really gross?” over and over again. No eye on actually examining dynamics, kink or subculture in a substantial way

I really wish I liked Plympton’s work more than I do. He has some great bits that work in short form like this, but when I actually try and watch full things from him it’s always the most 90’s boomer brained version of transgressive shock art.
