Taking a break from blog post typing to do a dome swap on my 12 year old HHKB. I've been trying to find an alternative to the stock feel that's not too hard and not too soft...

writing takes so long because it keeps causing me to refine or completely change my opinions and views
The futility of silos: Customer service can only tell you that they've "shared your suggestion with the development team". Devs can't talk to customers because they might say what they're working on before marketing is ready to reveal it. People ignore or miss the marketing.
I have a really soft spot for people who think it's normal to trudge into the woods and set up old computers

Working on the last paragraph of the new blog post. Ended up throwing away 3 others. Sadly that’s pretty normal for my writing process
surprising no one, microsoft wins the award for most sus outsourcing propublica.org/article/micros…
When I hear “open source”, I think “public code”. Whether I can copy and sell it, including logos and brand names, should a separate label (i.e. “MIT licensed”). The idea that “open” = “public” = “free to copy” ironically keeps many commercial projects closed that could be open.

For an upcoming blogpost, I'm tracing this embroidery pattern from the 1913 book 'le filet ancien au point de reprise II' by using @cleanshot to create a locked transparent overlay on top of Dottie (pixel editor in beta, by @gingerbeardman ). felt very y2k art class

> Have you seen that new viral video about… > the answer to that question is always going to be ‘no’ , and ‘thankfully’
People will think you’re crazy until you’re right. And when you’re right, they’ll forget you said anything.
every time I see a cool new app using Tauri, I've got to talk myself off the ledge of porting to it. My electron wrapper is stable and it works totally fine practically-speaking, and I have so many other higher priorities .. but .. what if it I could make it even faster...
WIP2: Took another pass on tuning this so that it connection lines only draw between the top corners, with a bias for the top-right. What you do you think?
WIP: instead of connection lines always being between top-right item connectors, what do you think of this approach that's instead based on the closest points between items?
Our explorations of static site generation in the kinopio-client continues, Vike was a dead-end for us. Now working on a prototype using Vite-SSG

Really being productive is about doing less, and choosing the right things to care about so you’re more effective overall. The opposite of the mainstream perception that productivity means doing more things, and doing them faster.
last week Lucas did most of the dev work to be able to serve static pages using Nuxt. Since learning that Vercel just bought Nuxt, we're pausing work on this to look into more long-term-stable alternatives that won't be motivated towards sus behavior by 5+ VC funding rounds
