When I was in grad schools, I was incredibly fortunate to have full academic scholarships and to be working. But even with that, there were times when I was hungry af. When I got financially stable, I always brought food and snacks to share w/ everyone.

A small treat a day keeps the big sad away. 🩷

I am beyond exhausted for many reasons. But I am still going, as best as possible. We are in dark strange times where hardly any, if any relief, is in sight. My heart and soul aches in seeing the evil and terrible. I truly hope that better days come, sooner than later. 🙏🙏🙏

A whole lot is going wrong and odds are not in my favor, yet I still remain hopeful for better days. 🙏🙏🙏

Easing into some much needed soft gentle self-care. Taking it easy, as nightmares and flashbacks have been taking place, due to much that is going on. Hot shower, clean pajamas, freshly laundered and ironed sheets, a mug of hot herbal tea, a cozy read, and soft jazz music.

Enjoying a night at the museum and library. Decompressing from last night as I think back to places I have been to and would love to go back to. As I look at the art and architecture that is around me, I find myself thankful for all the times I got to use my good to do good.

A guy at the art event I attended last night was a snobby bore who said that gaming is "a waste of time". He said that he thought I would be "more refined" in my interests. It was at that moment I made it clear that I could knock him out in both jurisprudence and Donkey Kong.

It comes in threes. At the art party event, I had to deal with three different men for three different reasons. First one: being a fan of racist bigoted trash Second one: being a snobby bore Third one: being creepy perv Thankfully, all were dealt with and I had a good time.

Tonight,a man was ungentlemanly towards me and I instinctively reacted by swatting him with my clutch bag. Scumbag snarled at me. I told him that he has no one to blame but himself for being an uncouth letch. Thankfully,Security graciously finished the job by making him leave.

Tonight's art party event. Not good: A few men gave "could you not" vibes earlier. Thankfully, they have left. Good: I am having a marvelous time and enjoying tasty mocktails. Met a few fellow girlies that love cozy gaming and care about community activism as much as I do too.

Sipping on a tall glass of citrus rooibos iced tea and nibbling on mango chunks with Tajín, as I am getting my hair and makeup done.

I got an idea. A local gourmet market near the venue has popsicles. I am going to get a box of popsicles and share it with others as we are waiting to get inside. It is hot out here!

Getting ready to go out tonight. Normally, I would be highly ecstatic to put on a sexy cocktail dress with matching heels and to go somewhere fun. But I am not vibing with the air quality right now. Part of me wants to go home, sit on the balcony, and eat a box of popsicles.

Expecting nothing and appreciating everything. This sums it all up, when it comes to living life to the fullest. Nothing is guaranteed and everything needs to be appreciated.

Speaking as someone who was sexually abused as a child,I look at all of this with grief,sadness and horror. What is taking place encompasses how society,from individuals to the system,grossly enables predators and traumatizes victims. Accountability for evil,should be the norm.
