Saddened to learn of both Salishanist Tom Hukari and Caucasologist Zaira Khiba’s deaths this month (July 17 and 23, 2025).
Zaira Khiba Hewitt, a respected linguist passed away on 23 July in Doncaster, UK. Her life and work were honoured in a message of condolence from President Badra Gunba, who described her as a devoted supporter of Abkhazia. abkhazworld.com/aw/current-aff…
