My new opinion article is not only about “How to spot an antisemite”, but also on cutting through the pro-Palestine / pro-Israel muddle. Clearing the conversation for the sake of realistic peacemaking. @JewishChron thejc.com/opinion/how-to…
It is not really a surprise to me that, now that it has been reported that the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight, the until-now private jostling between Israel and the Sauds (and co) for the WH's favor on the regional day after has led to this kind of conflagration.
Another U.S. official said the damage the Israelis had done to their standing at the White House over the past week didn't seem to be breaking through to them. "The Israelis need to get their head out of their asses," the official quipped
So have we just accepted from the reality of LLMs is that there appears to be a deep, structural isomorphism between the patterns of human meaning and the patterns of abstract, relational geometry?
Semiotic hubris: The conviction that the symbols a system uses to describe the world are more real, more important, and more true than the world they are meant to describe.

Epstein bragged about being Mossad.
Hill I will die on: Fukuyama unintentionally provided the totemic label for a kind of situated sociopolitical affect, and instead of being interested in the reality and existence of the phenomena that was given a label, the theorists just said, 'You're reading Fukuyama wrong!'
This is true, but I don't think people don't invoke 'The End of History' in reference to Fukuyama's thought, but as a totem for the affect-driven eschatological liberal idealism that emerged after the end of the Cold War and which informs the contemporary liberal-left.

Fukuyama is the most misunderstood contemporary intellectual, and his detractors never read past the title of ‘The End of History.’ He absolutely did not predict we’d be living in some liberal post-Soviet utopia; in fact, he predicted backsliding to violent anti-liberalism.
