The fundamental human right to make informed health decisions isn't invalidated by others' disapproval of those decisions.
Results from more than 10,000 studies (in thread) overwhelmingly show that people who smoke are less likely to be infected or hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 than never smokers or former smokers. x.com/phil_w888/stat…
The results of preprints & peer-reviewed studies describing the relationship between smoking and SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 are reported in this thread Part 2 To see part 1: Thread reader: threadreaderapp.com/thread/1251956… Twitter:
“They’ve already gone to great lengths to discredit vaping. At this point, a change would be an admission of failure and public health institutions fear this above all else.” They hinder progress in the name of saving face. Is THIS the type of public health citizens deserve? No.
"Within 3 months [our community drug research] advisory group lost 3 out of 8 members to smoking-related diseases." Yet as vaping is vilified, "a change would be admission of failure & public health institutions fear this above all else." By @DrMtyndall: filtermag.org/need-vapes-why…
10 years!
Same. Vaping 10 years and off cigarettes. But I am appalled at how the government has taken vaping over; salts, disposables, tiny tanks, no more testing e-juice or showing it in stores. So I still make my own e-juice and use old-school vapes like the Nautilus mini with a 4ml tank
📉 Smoking is down. Vaping is steady. And young adults in Georgia are turning away from cigarettes faster than ever—smoking in the 18-24 age group is down 83.8% since 2007! 🙌 Let’s support the alternatives that work.💪 Read the facts: thr101.org/georgia #THR #Georgia #gapol
.@ChiromoHospGrp Vaping for Harm Reduction is anything but pointless. Trying to suppress free discussion is a characteristic behaviour of someone with an indefensible stance. Regardless of how it's done, preventing the uptake of e-cigarettes encourages people to smoke instead.

"In Thailand, the tobacco death toll is 71,000 people each year, and from vaping – zero. So why are cigarettes available in every convenience store, while e-cigarettes are banned?" The video's an hour long. youtube.com/watch?v=yIAMcc…

This is peak anti-vaping madness. 100k for a position dedicated to spreading misinformation about the world's most effective smoking cessation tool and tobacco substitute. What else could @UniMelb spend this money on? Teaching? Mental health services? seek.com.au/vaping-jobs/in…
Thought the name looked familiar. It's that passionate, balanced and very credible WHO prodigy who posted this cheerful greeting at COP 10.
There's a LOT more to the nicotine discussion besides just quitting smoking. It's mainly about improving brain health... It's great to see communities coming together to find answers to big problems like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, & other neurological diseases. One 20,000 member…
🤡"At the heart of abolition is love"🤡 🤡🤡"Truth-telling is central to this framework"🤡🤡 It's a statement of dogma professed by the most fanatical fanatics, e.g. Maddox, Malone, and Gilmore. "Abolition" is a euphemism for prohibition. academic.oup.com/heapro/article…

A very entertaining read: full of zingers 😂
From vapes to pouches, the BBC continues its crusade against low-risk nicotine products. The latest hit piece on "gum shredding" teens is sloppy, selective, and short on science. Read how they’ve swapped lung panic for gum hysteria. daily-pouch.com/media-watch-bb…
More dishonest scaremongering from @CTVKitchener & @WDGPublicHealth about nicotine pouches. Nevertheless, Tenenbaum deserves some credit for admitting that pouches benefit people trying to stay off of cigarettes. An improvement over inveterate liar Nicola Mercer.

"So, countries still need to be doing things like raising tobacco taxes, making it expensive, unaffordable to the young people and the lower-income people." That's what they did in Australia, although cigarettes are now much cheaper there thanks to the illicit market.
20 years on, the fight against tobacco continues & so does our progress. Today, 6.1 billion people are protected by proven tobacco control measures 'MPOWER', like higher tobacco taxes. But the industry is adapting fast, pushing new products like vapes & targeting our kids. A…
