Likely one of the single biggest lightning producing Thunderstorms in recorded SoCal history occurred yesterday in the foothills/mountains of Ventura/Santa Barbara counties all from one storm/cell! Over 2500 bolts were detected. Luckily rain prevented any wildfire ignitions.

There was a bit of lightning in southern San Diego County earlier today. The Earth Networks network detected 90 in-cloud and 68 cloud-to-ground strikes over San Diego County and the adjacent coastal waters. More t-storms are possible tomorrow, mainly over the mts and deserts.

Again, it was quite the #lightning show today across Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Here is a Google Earth image of the areal distribution of the cloud-to-ground strikes. Overall, a very impressive day. Threat of showers/thunderstorms will continue overnight. #CAwx
