How Might the West Fare Without Christianity? How might it fare as Islamic? In this Spectrum Street Epistemology session, @Miss_Snuffy and I explore these topics and more:
I’d like to have a conversation on my show with someone who profoundly disagrees with the ideas expressed in this post. If you know anyone who’s qualified (tenure at a reputable academic institution, publications in the area, large platform) please post their handles below.
Let's imagine we lived in a world driven by reason and not crippled by neurotic colonial guilt and political correctness. Economically advanced nations would take a good look at their abysmal fertility rates and realize that until mass automation becomes possible, only…
Just tw'd this article, but the tw makes a different point. Figure below shows actual ideas/claims made/promoted/advanced in academia over the last few years w/minimal pushback from sane academics. Do you really wonder why so many want to defund and even destroy us?
With a few exceptions -- @Docstockk, @aytchellesse, @byrne_a -- philosophers continue to affect a bizarre neutrality over whether there are male women. Is it any surprise this cues the public into writing off academia generally? Me and @d_kodsi in TPM philosophersmag.com/philosophical-…
Despicable.
This is an important video. Here, the president of Syria blames the Druze for the genocide attempt against them and exalts the ones who tried to cleanse them from the country.
Amid rising tensions in NYC’s mayoral race, all candidates deserve enhanced security NOW. Zero tolerance for violence. @NYPDnews @NYCMayorsOffice
No federal rescue funds for Minneapolis, Portland, or NYC once they crumble. Votes have consequences. Own them.
In case you’re wondering what my political affiliation is, it’s on my T-shirt in this podcast convo on epistemology with @CordialCurious and @ToKTeacher (ToK = Theory of Knowledge, a fab global educational program).
Join me as I chat with skepticism legend @michaelshermer and epistemology educator Brett Hall (@ToKTeacher) about the nature of truth and knowledge, the role of criticism in science, and how societies foster error correction for moral and scientific advancement. We also discuss…
Amid Syria’s conflicts threatening the Druze (~700K in Syria), should the US accept 250K Druze refugees?
Am I the only one who doesn’t care about this?
Ani will make ur buffer overflow @Grok 😘
Colleges of Education and teacher certification programs have been ideologically captured. There’s a fairly easy fix to this, which is to dismantle the accreditation agencies, which are also captured.
1/ This "government teacher" doesn't know when America was founded, won't teach students the official curriculum, and teaches kids about activism, anti-racism, and Black Lives Matter. Woke teachers took over K-12 education and the get funded by grants like these, A Thread🧵
The @UofT , which is in service to a demented ideology, suspended my friend @Leigh_Revers. Socratic wisdom: A virtuous person cannot be truly harmed by those of lesser moral character. My commentary: The University of Toronto is filled with pathetic vipers.
Great post by @Leigh_Revers that resulted in a 3-day suspension from University of Toronto Mississauga: The Holy Resurrection of Biological Sex open.substack.com/pub/leighrever…
This was a far reaching conversation with the indispensable @peterboghossian - we touched on many issues, and I am grateful to @TheMichaelEvery, @DavidBe31099196, @SantiagoAuFund, @amlivemon, and other who shaped my thinking on the issues we discussed!
“In the next 5-10 years, you will have civil unrest in Western European countries that will escalate to civil war.” My conversation with @Raphfel:
"This crisis is why UATX was founded. Universities have replaced truth-seeking with ideological activism. Academic rigor is almost nonexistent. Self-censorship is the norm. Equality under the law has been corrupted by DEI bureaucrats. And students, rather than learning to…
We’re proud to unveil the Manhattan Statement on Higher Education, which recapitulates the crisis of the universities and calls on President Trump to enact six principles for reform. The time for decisive action is now. thefp.com/p/the-presiden…
