Saddening to see irresp trashing of the NFHS. USAID is 1 of the partners. Its grants are under bilateral assistance that the Fin Min approves where Sanyal was a sr officer. NHFS is carried out by us. Under donor aid we get technical assistance. His tirade reflects another agenda

We give a brief review of poverty estimation based on the new household expenditure survey and issues arising from the new methodology adopted by NSS in recording consumption data.
As the year ends, I’m revisiting my story on delayed public datasets. The Census, the most crucial dataset, remains overdue. Experts highlight that many indicators now rely on estimates, not actual numbers. Outdated data affects everything from PDS to crime rates. #Census #data
