In no particular order; grumpy English uncle, public health person, genetic epidemiologist, dad, Arsenal supporter, hiker.
#StandUpForScience Not posting much on Twitter these days, but this one worth it. Seen at the rally near UCLA campus @realDonaldTrump

Says it all. Switching elsewhere is the right thing to do.
This is my farewell post. I am not deleting this account, as I don’t want to lose the archive, and I don’t want my name taken by imposters. But, for as long as Musk owns the platform, I’ll no longer use it. I’m now posting at georgemonbiot.bsky.social. Since Elon Musk bought this…
If this doesn't persuade you that it is time to stop using Twitter..... Source reasonably trustworthy open.substack.com/pub/robertreic…

Friends, Romans, countrymen, Give up your fears... And get on over to BlueSky. There are no good reasons to continue to support Elon Musk and his deranged politics.
Just a reminder that you can find me on Bluesky. It's just like this place, but without the brainless 'patriots' who, ironically, can barely write in English. 😉 Link here and in bio: bsky.app/profile/parody…
A thread with many sound reasons for the BBC license fee. None of them matter to someone like @zatzi who is not interested in things that make society better.

This is what Nigel Farridge, Johnson, Truss, Sunak, Badenoch etc wish for when they "take back control".
America should liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government
I agree that people should move to Blue Sky.
Rather than just posting on X to complain about X, come join everyone over at the other place... Not sure where to start? jeremy-data.bsky.social has collated some handy starter packs to find out who's already there: stats: go.bsky.app/Ki7PjpS stats:…

Worse than being an arbitrary threshold, it is an arbitrary threshold based on a profoundly uninteresting probability. A threshold based on the probability the null is true given the data would make more sense.
"Science is neutral and apolitical" says field that bases billions of dollars in decisions on p<0.05, a threshold from 100+ years ago that everyone just uses because everybody else is using it.

This is all the worse because the redundancy is the result of an investigation of senior faculty following allegations that were clearly false by others who then profited from their egregious actions while others have lost out. The overpaid VC had opportunitys to intervene.
Voice of Victim "I'm being made jobless from @RussellGroup university after 27 yrs Uni only recognised 17 yrs. When I joined the Cancer Institute, it was not then part of Uni Redundancy was not a lot, I'm now getting £5k less It's a great comfort to know my VC gets £650k pa"
