Every 3rd March, we celebrate World Hearing Day. This year the Otolaryngology Society of Uganda (OSU) has organised an ear camp on 28th February at Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital. Activities will include free ear check, hearing screening & rehabilitation. Don't miss out.

Dr. Sabrina Kitaka gave a wonderful talk on personal branding and marketing oneself as a surgeon. Her take home message included getting mentors, differentiating ourselves from others, maximizing our career potential and being lifelong learners.

Prof. Galukande Moses, the President of ASOU encouraged ENT surgeons to actively participate in ASOU surgical camps, network with surgeons from other specialties, initiate school ear screenings for children and personal wellness activities for surgeons.

Our first guest speaker Dr. Fualal Jane who is the President of COSECSA highlighted the training opportunities for ENT surgeons within COSECSA. Currently there are only 70 ENT surgeons serving 45.9 million Ugandans and yet there is still a high demand for ENT services.

The OSU Annual Scientific Conference has kicked off at Skyz Hotel Naguru. Our theme for this year is Challenges, Opportunities, and the Future. We are privileged to have Dr. Jane Fualal, Prof. Moses Galukande and Dr. Sabrina Kitaka as our guest speakers.
