Masonry is done. Had some friends come up and help us finish it out before winter. Next week we are back at the shop and will start cutting out the timber frame roofs. I’m continually grateful for the opportunity to create such beautiful project with such lovely folks!

A bit of our cabinet making process. 5/4” eastern white pine face frame pinned with white oak dowels. Milk paint for the finish.
Cabinets are coming together. Working on the husks, and lazy susans. Giving the panels a coat of paint before assembly helps keep them looking sharp as they shrink and expand. Quote taken with how the texture of the grain comes through with this milk paint.

A door blows open in your mind when you learn about the suffix -le, it explains so much. People used to add it to verbs to mean ‘more than once’ or continuously—so originally, to ramble is to ‘roam’ on, to jostle is to joust repeatedly, and to sparkle is to emit lots of sparks.
