SWs at a Gembloux s*x club will receive full employment rights thanks to a law passed in Dec 2024 that allows SWs to work legally as self employees, and under straightforward employment contracts. Employees are entitled to full access to Belgium’s social security system.

If this isn’t a strong argument to destigmatize and decriminalize s*x work, we don’t know what is. Organizations dedicated to migrant rights can’t advocate for migrant s*x workers if they don’t believe s*x workers have rights. We have to change this narrative!

PGH City Council has reduced the minimum penalty for individuals convicted of engaging in s*x work, downgrading the offense from a misdemeanor to a summary offense. This victory is because of the SWs of Pittsburgh, including the Pittsburgh Coalition for Safer SW & @SWOONalliance.

May 28th, a City Council committee met to discuss the “brothel” case, & the conversation about SW & s*x trafficking turned into a complex discussion about decrim. All 11 public speakers spoke in support of decrim, & shared personal stories & statements on behalf of SWs.
