Delighted to launch our new project today! We will be onsite at @EPfestival with our team of #HarmReduction volunteers and HSE lab, who will analyse drugs via a 'back of house' approach through surrender bins. Follow @drugsdotie for updates and alerts. #ReduceTheHarms

Thank you to @McrFinest for this fantastic video of The Loop testing at @Parklifefest 2025 & featuring Parklife director & longtime Loop trustee @jondrape, along with some of our 100s of skilled & committed volunteers. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
THE DRUG-TESTING UNIT SAVING LIVES AT PARKLIFE AND BEYOND Founded by Professor Fiona Measham, @WeAreTheLoopUK conducted its first on-site drug-testing service at The Warehouse Project in Manchester in 2013. It’s been doing this vital work ever since, taking drugs that have been…
♾️💜♾️ Ecstasy pills containing 90-340mg MDMA (equivalent to 1-3 adult doses) were tested @Parklifefest last weekend. Take care, test if you can, & look after each other. #TakeQuarterSipWater #GoSlowStayLow ♾️💜♾️ metro.co.uk/2025/06/16/dru…
The Loop is onsite at @Parklifefest conducting back of house testing! We will post about substances of particular concern - make sure to follow us for more info. Also, our lovely researchers are circulating the event conducting confidential surveys informing our services. ♾💜
We spent some time this week alongside @GardaTraffic colleagues with Warren Lysaght from NSW police force on his visit to learn about #Nitazenes and collaborative responses. Warren visited a number of services in Dublin and had a day of discussion with a range of stakeholders
Quoted in @thetimes by @davidwoode on the recent nitazene deaths & why we need universal access to #drugchecking now more than ever. Nitazenes don’t follow the neat binaries of ‘recreational’ & ‘dependent’ drugs, as last month’s tragic deaths illustrate. thetimes.com/uk/crime/artic…
We don’t know what the pills were bought as, implicated in 2 deaths & 1 hospitalisation last weekend, but we do know they came home from clubbing & we do know they took nitazene pills very similar to ones tested by The Loop 2 months ago. Test & take care, whatever pills you take.
📣♾️📣 2 deaths last weekend in London were from pills confirmed as #nitazenes & similar to pills tested by The Loop. They looked like oxys BUT it is not known what they were bought as. Take care whatever pills you take. Carry #naloxone, check in on friends & test if you can.

We were delighted to recently attend the 13th @ClubHconference in Ghent to engage in discussions on creating safer and move inclusive settings. We presented on drug trends and developments in this area since the conference was held in Dublin in 2017. #ClubHealth #SaferNightlife

The ‘doing gender-doing drugs’ team! Had a great time @ClubHconference hanging out with academic & #TEDI #DrugChecking colleagues, with this bunch reminded me just how long ago that paper was written. (They proposed I write a 2nd edition. Hmm... 🧐)
Excellent @ClubHconference, including @nickikilleen describing the #harmreduction benefits of 3 years of ‘Back of House’ onsite drug testing, based on @WeAreTheLoopUK model. 58% of survey respondents report being willing to surrender drugs to a Back of House testing service.
“The agencies said that harm reduction measures, such as drug-checking services, are “crucial” to reduce the harm from taking MDMA, the chemical name for ecstasy” @CormacJOKeeffe irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4160…
Delighted that Ireland is represented in this review for the first time through sample collection from UCD School of Bimolecular and Biomedical Science with support from The SCORE network. This approach will help us better understand new and emerging trends in Ireland over time.
