1/ Delighted to officially launch the 2025 BrainModes Conference 🔗 brainmodes2025.org 📅 October 8-10 📍 @FieldsInstitute , @UofT, Toronto Registration now open! All you need to know in the 🧵below👇: @BrainModes @OHBM @thevirtualbrain @CAMH_KCNI @CAMHResearch @SickKidsNews
Special privilege to be kicking off the conference with this roller coaster ride through key theoretical neuroscience developments from the 1800s through to the 2020s. Was a lot of fun reading classic work from the 40s and 50s putting this one together
We kicked off with "History & Biological Rationale of Neural Field Theory" by @neurodidact from @CAMH_KCNI
Was a pleasure to chair thelis symposium that kicked off the first full day of the OHBM conference. Superb science discussed by a superb group of young scientists.
🚨 Ready to model the brain? Join us at 9am in📍Room M2 for our symposium on Brain Models of Brain Stimulation 🧠⚡️ We’ll dive into cutting-edge methods and future directions in #BrainStimulation and computational modeling #OHBM2025 #NeuroModelling #ComputationalNeuroscience

🧠💥 Grateful to this brilliant crew for making our Neural Field Theory course happen at #OHBM2025. Huge thanks to everyone who attended, asked sharp questions, and stayed curious. And thank you @OHBM exibiyion for letting us run this workshop for the third time 🙌
Then: "Connectomes of Neural Fields" by @ViktorJirsa From The Virtual Brain to real connectomes: Jirsa showed how to embed neural field models onto individual brain geometries.
Next up: "Mathematical Frameworks" by @DrBreaky. He walk us through the core equations underlying Neural Field Theory how spatially continuous dynamics emerge from population models, the role of convolution kernels, and how NFT bridges neurobiology and PDEs. #OHBM2025
Closing the day: "NFT & Cortico-Hippocampal Interactions" by @phogat_richa She explored how Neural Field Theory can capture interactions between cortical and hippocampal systems #OHBM2025
Continue the session: "NFT & Neurostimulation" by Huifang Wang. She presented a virtual twin framework using Neural Field Theory to simulate individual brain responses to neurostimulation
We kicked off with "History & Biological Rationale of Neural Field Theory" by @neurodidact from @CAMH_KCNI
