Yesterday was a 3 cupcakes for lunch kind of day and today is shaping up to be the same.
Another school year coming to a close. 8yo's school does teacher looping so she's been with the same teacher for 3 years but is moving on to a new teacher in the fall. I've already cried once this morning. 8yo and I will miss her so much! A great teacher is everything.
I was in Austin, TX on election day back in 2016. I've been invited to attend a meeting in Austin, TX on election day this year. I am feeling rather superstitious about it.
Adjusting to new progressive lenses and feeling a bit old. The flat ground sometimes looks like it is undulating. It feels very trippy.
Jacqueline Zhu wants to make an impact on the lives of people living with #heartfailure. She's working with Dr. Axel Guenther & Dr. Craig Simmons to engineer bioelectronic cardiovascular devices, with the goal of enabling real-time monitoring of cardiovascular tissue health.

8yo thinks hanging out at my office is just the best thing ever. She wants me to pick her up from camp early to hang out in my office before going home. It's been a week & I'm so tired & really don't want to go to camp, get her, come back here. But it makes her so happy.
So tired and in need of coffee that I forgot to put the coffee pod in and then couldn't figure out why my coffee tasted like sweet water. It's been a LONG week.
Borrowing my partner's bike while mine is being serviced. I forgot how effortless it is to ride when a) your bike doesn't weight 50lbs and b) you aren't dragging a 70lb 8yo behind you.

Took a pass on travelling to the major annual conference in my field. Honestly, the idea of going filled me with dread and anxiety. Getting back to myself is a journey. I'm not going to force myself to do a non-required thing that doesn't bring me joy. Next year.
Back from the loveliest (but short) trip to SF. Caught up with a dear old friend from Purdue, enjoyed some time just for me, and celebrated colleagues at a lovely awards ceremony. I'm terrible about prioritizing myself so this trip was a nice break just for me.

Originally from Nigeria, Chetachi Ugwu-Ojobe found community at #UofTEngineering. As the president of @nsbeuoft, Ugwu-Ojobe organized NSBEHacks, the first student-run Black hackathon in the GTA. He is one of the #GradstoWatch24: uofteng.ca/gtw24-chetachi #Classof2T4 #UofTGrad24
Congrats, Joanna and thank you for all you've contributed to the EngSci community during your undergrad!

"theme day" at 8yo's first week of camp is "Canadian Icons"... this one is going to really test me.
Wonderful and well-deserved recognition. Margaret has been an amazing mentor to me and so many others in the computing community!
Congratulations to Margaret Martonosi, recipient of the 2023 ACM Frances E. Allen Award for Outstanding Mentoring! Martonosi is recognized for far-reaching mentoring at @Princeton , in computer architecture, and to the broader computer science community. bit.ly/3KCcyJ1
