The em dash—my old favorite for adding emphasis—now reeks of AI slop. Switched to double hyphens--to signal real human writing. We'll see more of this: ditching polish for authenticity, like actors keeping crooked teeth or devs hiding easter eggs in code.

so much of human life is motivated by desire for scarcity -- status, money, power. we seek what few have. but our stated goals are often inverted: abundance for all. that contradiction contains most of human behavior, most of history.

continues to amaze how often i meet s/o senior in tech who’s still semi-suspicious of AI. meanwhile coding line by line, drafting perf reviews from scratch, sending simple q’s to lawyers who get back 5 days later w typos. like hauling water buckets past a functioning faucet.

Narrative drives price, and then price drives narrative

Immediate impression of Grok 4 is that it’s better than o3 Pro. More information dense and stronger insight, and feels more human. Comparing them on research and reasoning feels like work product from a junior analyst vs someone director level.
