That last line must be in reference to the same kid at Jonestown mentioned here - Harvey Milk sent a letter to Carter as well. A truly bizarre story.
Wouldn't it be funny if you could bypass it with 1 line of code in ctrl + shift + i > console Object.values(webpackChunkdiscord_app.push([[Symbol()],{},r=>r.c])).find(x => x?.exports?.default?.__proto__?.getCurrentUser).exports.default.getCurrentUser().ageVerificationStatus = 3;
> Wake up > New UK law banning +18 content without ID verification > Banned from opening channels on my own Discord server > MY DISCORD SERVER. THAT I OWN. I'm tired of defending the UK. It truly is shit to be British.
If there was ever an example for why need an open and privacy preserving digital ID standard. You should be able to prove your ID card says something, like your age or in this case your gender, without revealing your address
It turns out that the "Tea" app DOXXES all its users by uploading both ID and face verification photos, completely uncensored, to a public bucket on their server
A key influence on the UK 'Online Safety Bill' is the NSPCC (The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) who in 1991 helped fuel Satanic Panic.
Based on Q2 2025 ATTOM data, vacant investor-owned properties represent ~0.8% of total US residential housing (3.5% vacancy rate on 23.8% investor share). For CA, it's ~0.4% (est. 2% vacancy on 19% investor share, per recent reports).

this is crazy
if the press release isn't on-chain, did it even really happen? this transaction is funded with 80,000 sats from a Galaxy Digital address, and pays 1 sat of dust to each of the addresses involved in the 80,000 BTC sale, together with this op_return:
If you want to (politely) lodge a complaint (SAY THESE WORDS) about payment processors censoring your computer games on behalf of anti-porn loony radfems, here's a website with phones to call stop-paypros.neocities.org
Any censorship is bad. Locking websites behind ID verification is crazy. Mastercard and Visa controlling which games we play is awful. Fuck this endless puritanical bullshit.
The solution is LavaMoat (github.com/LavaMoat/LavaM…), thanks to Agoric, Mark S. Miller, MetaMask, Dan Finlay and many others. LavaMoat solves this, because it is based on Mark S. Miller's theory of object-capabilities and the Principle of Least Authority.
Attacks are ongoing to insert *persistent* and *sophisticated* malware into node.js packages. If you run `npm install` right now, these attackers might be able to silently install a *persistent* backdoor inside your development machine. x.com/naugtur/status…

Just a few minutes after the Online Safety Act went into effect last night, Proton VPN signups originating in the UK surged by more than 1,400%. Unlike previous surges, this one is sustained, and is significantly higher than when France lost access to adult content.
very cool way to solve the tension between geographic decentralization and co-location
As dYdX continues to scale, performance is key. With changes to block production through Designated Proposers, a governance-selected set of validators, the network can improve reliability and liveness without compromising decentralisation. Read more ⤵️ dydx.xyz/blog/governanc…
I've often wished for a #Defi alchemist who loved #Zcash who showed up to development calls, who knows how to advocate for ZEC in the Defi landscape. This is becoming more timely with multiple DEX integrations deployed and various bridges underway.
This thread is awesome because I keep reading an answer different than previous ones where I think “oh yeah, this too!”
Complete certainty is impossible. So for any belief it’s always possible to be wrong. The Sun might not rise tomorrow. Yet at some point, in order to function we must round the chance of error to zero on many beliefs. On what principled basis might we decide to do this?
is this something within my/our control or ability to influence?
Google docs (and slides) annoys the hell out of me because formatting is so opaque, and once it's out of whack, I have like a 30% change of figuring out how to fix it… So I thought I would click the Gemini button and now I'm wondering if there's a word like "roadrage" but for—
