My Martin Amis
@mymartinamis
The podcast that invites writers, critics and publicists to tell their story about the life and legacy of the late novelist #MartinAmis. Hosted by @jackaldane
A message from the English author Geoff Dyer… Don’t miss this in August 🌞
When I was in London, I went on the My Martin Amis podcast, which is a great new show. I spoke about my favorite Amis, my new novel GLASS CENTURY, Donald Trump, and growing up in NYC. Don't miss this one.
⏰ NEW EPISODE! Listen to @RossBarkan and @jackaldane discuss Inside Story, #Trump, and the Amisian spirit of fearlessness that Ross hopes modern writers can reclaim for the 21st Century. 🔗podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/i-h… 🔗open.spotify.com/episode/6MoOxI… 🔗 shows.acast.com/martin-amis/ep…
Had a similar reaction re-reading "Inside Story" earlier this year and coming to the passage where Amis imagined himself being here in January 2025 to see the end of a double term Trump presidency...

Martin Amis's 2nd novel, Dead Babies, was republished as Dark Secrets. I asked if he would cross out the new title and write in the original one. And he drawled "no, I'll write what I should have called it" and he crossed out Dark Secrets and wrote The Next Thing @mymartinamis
🔊OUT TOMORROW! Ep#17 with @RossBarkan, who couldn't visit London this summer without speaking to @jackaldane about📚Inside Story📚, his views on #MartinAmis's disdain for Trump as a New Yorker, and what he owes to both Christopher Hitchens and Amis as a journalist and novelist.

In August I’ll be speaking to Geoff Dyer about his love of Amis’s📚 The War Against Cliche 📚, a universal favourite we’ve not touched on since the fifth episode of @mymartinamis with @j_amesmarriott. Can’t wait.

Are you trying to give me a job? My masthead says No Homework. I do however post a current reading list on my website. Pour encourager les autres. Martin was a genius and his dad was present when I auditioned at a live show for The Footlights in 1963. I was star struck. I…
DM us @EricIdle and let’s talk about having you on the series to explain why The Zone of Interest is as you describe it.
Martin Amis. The Zone of Interest. An almost perfect novel. Especially for now.
What book do you keep recommending to people?
☀️☀️☀️COMING THIS SUMMER!☀️☀️☀️ Journalist, novelist and essayist @RossBarkan joins @jackaldane in London to re-open📚 Inside Story📚 and discuss his own work as a 30-something novelist, journalist and New Yorker. Catch them later...🍸🍸
Not a big podcast guy in general, I listen to the @mymartinamis podcast almost every other day now. It's telling that Brits in general have such feeling for Amis that such an idea—the topic is Amis and nothing else, innumerable writers and public figures come on to discuss only…
It lacks any personable or humorous tone though. Like it was written by a dictionary. As Rushdie said on A.I; ‘It’s not a threat, until it can make people laugh.’Says more about modern criticism if this would get published. Great show at the @mymartinamis 👏
The first three paragraphs of a Chat-GPT review of the Rachel Papers by Martin Amis. Quite amazing. I think you could submit writing of this standard to a magazine and get published. Took three seconds.
