Lumiere Cinema started in 2019 when former movie theatre employees took over the Music Hall theatre. Independent arthouse cinema. #KeepLumiereCinemaAlive
Lumiere Cinema was started by employees who took over a movie theatre, the Music Hall in Beverly Hills. We are an arthouse cinema. COVID-19 has closed us for over 6 months. Somehow we have made it this far. We’re asking for your help. #SmallBusinessRelief gofundme.com/f/keep-lumiere…
Making my debut over at MovieWeb writing about Nacho Vigalondo's Daniela Forever, an interesting exploration of what it means to try (and fail) at reviving your perfect woman. Also delighted it meant I got to talk about Evangelion because, well, duh. movieweb.com/daniela-foreve…
#40Acres is a tense, compelling post-apocalyptic thriller whose tight family unit provides emotional and dramatic heft. Danielle Deadwyler gives a fierce performance that further proves how talented she is. Some editing issues aside, this is an impressive debut from R.T. Thorne.
Your patience might be tested by the pacing of ABRAHAM’S BOYS: A DRACULA STORY. But there’s a deeply introspective story within that spotlights isolation and its toxic side effects. Beautifully shot in 4:3, it was right up my alley. Review for @InSessionFilm in the next tweet!
🎥 Reel Review: Bad Shabbos is Shabbat dinner meets dark comedy: one accidental death, one frazzled family, and enough cultural heat to catch fire. Kyra Sedgwick leads, but Method Man is the surprise MVP. Smart, darkly funny, and fueled by strong ensemble work. Rated: 7/10

Just saw Hot Spring Shark Attack and I’m calling it now — BEST film of the year. It eats Jurassic World: Rebirth and 28 Years Later for breakfast. 10/10 steam-powered shark carnage. ✋CINEMA🤚

Abraham’s Boys is a clever horror drama on the isolation and uncertainty of childhood. #horrormovies #vampires @Shudder pastemagazine.com/?p=405862
Caught Sara Friedland’s Familiar Touch last night. Special in so many ways but for me, it’s her ability to place you within each moment through hyper specific textures on screen and the sounds the emit. It’s one of the more stunning portrayals of memory loss I’ve ever seen.

A movie is straight up the least economically savvy place to do this
I saw the weirdly wonderful Japanese movie "Hot Spring Shark Attack", at once a satire about our fixation on social media and a really funny series of "bloody" swallowings.
