Introducing Dream Lab LA, our new creative initiative fusing frontier AI with deep-rooted filmmaking craft. Based in Los Angeles and led by @verenapuhm and @mrjonfinger, it’s a space where creators and technologists work side by side shaping the future of storytelling.
If you solve problems with text (programmer) natural language as the “solution” is magical. If you solve problems with gestures, action, and play (filmmaker) text as the “solution” takes you away from your playground to sit in an office. The process is the game not the output.
Training Jr Artist Jack Fishkin (no public social media yet) that @verenapuhm brought on. Here is one of his experiments today. One lesson was that blurring the mask for the helicopter gave the model nothing to grab onto for the helicopter.

Shingeki x Luma Modify 😍🔥 The most fun way to use AI… 😂 Together with @Jotavix_ , @canary91, and @mapisuasan, we made this short Shingeki no Kyojin clip using @LumaLabsAI Modify. Even though we’re happy with the result, the best part by far was the filming process 😌
What blew my mind is I’ve actually found in many cases I get better results with ray2 flash for V2V. Faster, cheaper, some bugs in ray 2 doesn’t show up, and even sometimes more stable. Very much worth exploring.

Behind the scenes of my latest video, where I do a virtual try-on effect. I am currently working on a tutorial on how I made this. This was created using Wan2.1 Vace for video-to-video generation, PikaLabs for the transitions, and Sora for the image references.
