America today is an almost Soviet-like gerontocracy.
For most Americans, living in walkable neighborhoods with metro stations within walking distance is an unimaginable luxury.
My view is that big houses in the middle of nowhere is not a good metric of wealth because big houses are not particularly expensive to build as long as land is cheap and road infrastructure isn't completely awful.
