My first graduate school paper with @mazen_kheirbek is out now in @NatureNeuro Couldn’t have been done without some amazing people @hyeschoi @kelsey_clausing @VS_Turner & @IliaVainchtein from @AnnaMolofskyLab nature.com/articles/s4159… (1/8)
In this new preprint, Emily Twedell (PhD student) and colleagues identify a functional role for the inhibitory synapses between striatal projection neurons -- shaping striatal ensembles to promote healthy action selection. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
So many @NINDSDiversity #DSPAN awardees represented at #ACNP2024 🥹🫶🩷 very inspired by my fellow grantees and especially by @MichelleJoLo1 who makes doing our work possible and has been deservedly recognized 🥳
A couple of news articles by @UCSF and @Nature : ucsf.edu/news/2024/12/4… nature.com/articles/d4158…
Thrilled to share our new paper in @Nature - "Understanding the neural code of stress to control anhedonia." A wonderful team effort with @_fxia, @VFascianelli and @StefanoFusi2. Check out the thread below. nature.com/articles/s4158…
What is the neural code and statistical structure of neural states characterizing stress? Our new work out in Nature answers these questions and more. Thanks to my amazing co-first @_fxia, and @StefanoFusi2 and @mazen_kheirbek for invaluable guidance🧵👇 nature.com/articles/s4158…
Excited to share our new paper out now @Nature, where we identified neural signatures of stress susceptibility and resilience in the amygdala-ventral hippocampal network to enable control of anhedonia! <nature.com/articles/s4158…> Thread below:

December Fellow's Spotlight on Dr. Christian Cazares hubs.la/Q02ZZX-l0
For years, we have been interested in what exactly ventral CA1 encodes and what kinds of behaviors it can influence. This new preprint from @jeremy_biane and crew examined what kinds of information are (and are not) represented in the activity patterns of ventral CA1 neurons.
New preprint is up examining what information is encoded by the ventral hippocampus (vhpc) Gotta love those studies where your initial hypothesis is thoroughly destroyed by the data. This one reframed how I think about the vhpc. 🧵 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Still have the warm and fuzzies from the stellar talks from each of our #DISCOVER awardees! Talking to faculty and trainees, the program was hugely stimulating for the entire @salkinstitute community from talks to panels to mini-interviews!
Day 1 of DISCOVER was so inspiring!! Amazing talks from our #DISCOVER awardees🤯😇, and I was proud of our @salkinstitute faculty showing in the blitz💪 On to Day 2..!!!
