Acuña’s latest jaw-dropping act further proved how dynamic he remains with two surgically-repaired knees mlb.com/news/ronald-ac…
According to my sources, the Braves and Padres haven't had any discussions of any kind about Marcell Ozuna.
Anything on the Ozuna padres report from hector Gomez last night?
First-inning recap: Verlander 40 pitches Strider 31 pitches Time: 32 minutes Total runs: 0
Strider has a 1.74 ERA in the five home starts he's made since switching his walk-out song to the Beastie Boys' No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn #Analytics
With Riley targeting a Friday return, the Braves plan to keep Profar, Olson and Acuña in the lineup’s top three spots. As for Nacho, his defense at third has given Snitker confidence he could be a valuable utility player at some point mlb.com/news/austin-ri…
They took him out last night because it was 9-0 and he completed what would have been his last at-bat in the seventh. After he struck out, he raised his arms and put the bat on his helmet as he walked toward the dugout. That was frustration, not a sign of discomfort.
So they took him out for a reason last night? Guess we will learn on Friday that he’s on the IL with __ …
Acuña will rest his legs during this afternoon’s game and during tomorrow’s offday. Makes sense to do this frequently with afternoon games over the rest of the season
The #Braves today recalled LHP Dylan Dodd and RHP Hunter Stratton to Atlanta, after optioning RHP Davis Daniel and RHP Wander Suero to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game.
Bump
Good thing Murphy is still positioned behind Albies in the lineup
You must really want Luke Williams to qualify for the ERA title
Add Holmes (innings) and Strider (elbow) to that list too.
As we're reminded of the Braves' pitching woes tonight, would it be best to stay away from Sale, Schwellenbach, Lopez and Jimenez until next year? Sale may push to make some starts after becoming eligible for activation on Aug. 19. But I can see staying away from the others.

Snit said Riley was still dealing with a shade of discomfort today. So, they decided to wait a couple days to activate him. He’ll likely play Friday in Texas
The Braves won’t activate Riley today. Might wait until Friday. There’s no reason to rush his return at this point.
Ronald is incredible. He wowed with his arm on Friday, his power yesterday (456 ft. HR) and his legs today. Yeah, the play was at second on Friday and Fredi had the stop sign up tonight. But Ronald's insane tools defy what is deemed fundamental.
My colleague @Theo_DeRosa informed me that Birdsong became the first pitcher to face six batters, record no outs and issue four walks in a game since a 46-year-old Nolan Ryan did it in on Sept. 22, 1993. That was the last of Ryan's 773 career starts
Birdsong is struggling. I feel comfortable saying this because he's older than 20.
