there are many leaks coming in on how josh long runs the office of students with disabilities and i can't get to all of them today what i can do though is start the noticing process of CPS superintendent and top officials at the District so a State Complaint can go in soon

cps doesn't have a budget yet for this school year and if I were a teacher looking for a job it would be dicey to even interview because will that job even exist in 3 weeks?

CPS says: We have also provided our principals with clear guidance on how to submit an appeal for additional special education staffing when there is a need.  CPS Principals: You aren't processing these appeals tho.

honestly, it's annoying that speaking slots are taken from nonprofessional parents and students unions have joint committee meetings with CPS to be heard so essentially this is to freeze out non curated voices, this structure is made to not have ears

SEIU73 is the first union to call out the philosophical choice that CPS leadership is making to limit support for kids with disabilites again, it's because the head of the Office of Students with Disabilities never taught in an inclusion environment, ever

Macquline King is speaking about special education classroom aides but completely missed the point a student might not lose AN aide but they might have lost THEIR aide that really matters for kids with disabilities

Mike Sitkowski and Josh Long both should be relieved on their duties, they both view students with disabilities as a burden I don't think we should have people in these roles who cannot find the words to treat kids with disabilities with dignity

i was thinking about how Mayor Johnson said the movement doesn't always show up press did ask him this week to clarify what he meant and he tried to backtrack but the fact is his movement did show up for him, they showed up to discipline a left flank and that's a huge service
