Some highlights of Mikel from MLS Next Cup this past week. His team didn’t have the best run, but he remains a joy to watch on the ball; calm, confident & composed more often than not. Already around 6’2”, I’m excited to see how he continues to assert himself in the months ahead.
Rarely seen a player with a better skillset than Mikel at this age. Elite game intelligence/IQ. His visual perception & decision making are second to none. Coupled with his technical ability, this makes him a special profile. Also comfortable in midfield as a deep-lying playmaker
