One of the weirdest things about these replies is the "yeah but LeMahieu was such a better hitter!" takes. DJ and RyMac are *different* hitters, to be sure, & DJ had a batting title. But one had a 93 OPS+ for the Rockies & the other has a 92. People are overrating DJLM the Rockie
Short version: - you can't just look at road splits because calling Coors home also hurts you on the road - many examples of guys who were just fine after leaving: Holliday, Arenado, DJLM, etc.
What a dumb comparison. Holliday and Arenado were actually good players. If you're a good hitter, you're going to hit anywhere which obviously, McMahon is not. I can't believe you work for MLB being that stupid
🚨The amazing Baseball Savant team created a BIRTHDAY INDEX🚨 😭😭😭 baseballsavant.mlb.com/birthday-index
To quote the great @SlangsOnSports: Birthdays are Important and Baseball is the Best So let's make some magic! New on Baseball Savant, we've created the Birthday Index, a quick look at how a player has performed on their birthday. Enjoy! Link: baseballsavant.mlb.com/birthday-index
121 OPS+ w COL 119 OPS+ his first 4 years with STL and now he's 34, so.
Arenado was just fine lol?
*Extremely* excited for more "but look at his road splits away from Coors" discourse
"Mets trade for Soto"
The Mets have traded for Gregory Soto, pending medicals, league sources say.
I am watching this Ottavino live breakdown stream (mlb.com/news/adam-otta…) and it's super interesting -- youtube.com/watch?v=lCMYr7…
Was not aware of this and yesssssssss
