Awesome and slightly surreal start to the year with everyone's favourite green owl Duo in Westminster! Excited to have more than 100 parliamentarians supporting the @duolingo #WestminsterLanguageChallenge learning 23 languages for a chance to win £20,000 for charity.

The APPG was delighted to host this event capping a wonderful few weeks in which MPs and peers took part in this challenge and shared their enthusiasm for languages. Delighted to work with @duolingo and @michael_lynas 's team to boost the visibility of languages in Parliament.
Congrats to the 200+ MPs and peers who took part in the @duolingo Westminster Language Challenge, learning 26 languages and completing 65,000 lessons! 🥇@CatSmithMP for @Girlguiding 🥈@adamthompson111 for Blue Tonic 🥉@alexlmayer for Home Start
Worth reading @thetimes interview of @duolingo founder and CEO @LuisvonAhn if you want to understand what makes Duolingo tick. TLDR - mission driven (open up access to education), combined with using the latest technology and don’t forget to make it fun! thetimes.com/article/0236db…
Bittersweet moment getting together with the @NCSTrust board for a last supper. We shared reflections on the massive impact that NCS has had on 1M+ young people across the UK and many more communities, local and national charities, parents and those who worked on the programme.

Thanjs @RoryStewartUK and @soniasodha for sharing your insights at DETcon London, our first @Duolingo conference in London.

Even Lily is excited about DETcon London. We’ve got amazing speakers for this @duolingo conference including our CEO @LuisvonAhn and @RoryStewartUK in conversation with @soniasodha. Looking forward to it!
