Continuing with more seed harvesting, today it’s the seed from my Own selection of long beet, these will be followed by the large exhibition onion seed in a couple of weeks.

Harvesting the seed from heads of long carrots that were placed down after the shows last October.

Having a look to see how well the onion seed heads are coming along. These will be the seed that will be available in our new catalogue available on line.

Two of our varieties were amongst the Red cards. Cauliflower’SV5818’ and beetroot Pablo, a regular winner on the show benches and sweet flavoured.

Some of the vegetables on display with the beautiful pair of cabbage taking the Best Dish in the vegetable section. The variety was Hercules.

The RHS Summer Show has moved this year from Tatton Park to Wentworth Woodhouse and is staged on the First floor of this massive Mansion. More veggies to follow

Having a look at the long carrots and parsnips this afternoon. The foliage on the stems on both were causing a couple to snap and it’s not what I’m aiming for.

A really hot and humid day today and I need to start sorting out the 250 gms onions.

A lovely day on Anglesey today. Returned from Chelsea flower show late last night. Probably the best show I Have seen in a few years. Checking on the exhibition seed onions. Will be lifting some 250 gms onions today as well.

A very different display of sweet peas from the Isle of White, different but beatiful. There’s also some quite strange exhibits, but all to its own!
