Our SYEP students this Summer have been working really hard and doing an amazing job. We are so proud of their effort!

Last week students in Jordan’s Summer class went to Central Park to checkout the 107th Infantry Memorial. They have been exploring and looking at World War I and the impact of the war on those who fought and lived during it.

Awesome bonding between House Reps and our incoming freshmen attending our Summer Bridge Program early today, 7/15, at Ferox Ninja Park. It’s always great having new students interacting with students already in our community before the first day of school.

Some of our incoming 9th graders attending our Summer Bridge Program got to tour @LaGuardiaCC today, 7/14. The LaGCC campus will be a vital part of their education over the next four years at MCHS, so getting an early look will help in their academic success! @SuptCheng_CIOB

We are so proud of our amazing science teacher Cheryl. Her work with MCHS students is a model for others in teaching. Congrats Cheryl! @FlagAward @M_C_N_C @SuptCheng_CIOB

That will do it! Put it in the books! The end of the 2024-2025 academic year has arrived. We hope you all have an amazing and spectacular Summer. Summer School begins Monday, 7/30. We can’t wait to see you Thursday, September 4th. Be safe and have fun!

Congrats to the Class of 2025! You did it! We are so very proud of you. It was so amazing celebrating you today along with family, friends and the faculty of MCHS. To see more pictures from Graduation, visit our Facebook page. @SuptCheng_CIOB @NYCSchools @M_C_N_C

Earlier today 20% (yup, thats not a typo) of the Class of 2025 graduated from @LaGuardiaCC w/ their Associate Degree. 11 of our 5th year students also received their Associate Degree. Words can’t describe our joy and pride on this amazing accomplishment! @SuptCheng_CIOB @M_C_N_C

Earlier this week select students met w/ Cheryl, Brian and Laura to begin the process of applying for our Teaching Assistant Program (TAS) for next school year. It was an amazing turnout.

Some more amazing student work from Cycle 3! Students in Miriam and Randy’s Bookmaking class created a picture book from start to finish that incorporated original characters and stories as well as hand drawn images. Just stunning work kids!

In Animation this cycle w/ Miriam Z. students worked in teams to create a stop motion animation that included music and spy effects in order to tell a story. Here are some of the finished products. A full compilation video from all the students can be found on our Facebook page.
One final reflection in House by the Class of 2025 before Graduation next week.

Can we talk about how awesome the MCHS 2025 Block Party Poster came out? Thanks to Randy and Miriam organizing. To see the finished product check it out hanging between John and Felisa’s room on the 2nd floor.

Some more photos from our block party on Friday, 6/13. Check out all the photos on our Facebook.
