The Packers chose 1923 as their new alternate/throwback jersey because that was the first year they became a publicly owned team. Team historian Cliff Christl said it could be argued that was the most important year because selling stock saved the team.
Some people might not understand what a throwback uniform is. It’s not making a new cool uniform. It’s recreating an old uniform from the past. Hope that helps
