The Ukrainian Accomodation Payment Scheme is unfair and deeply divisive. Landlords are using the scheme to line their pockets while renters struggle with rising costs and a broken housing system. The scheme must now be urgently reviewed. We need fairness and transparency.
Taoiseach asked if the additional investement is new money for new projects or to existing projects. Answers by commiting to the Metro, pretty sure that was already a commitment, and equity for Irish Water (an entity that already exists)
I will be on @drivetimerte in the next hour to discuss the impact on the private rented sector of the rise in the number of properties being awarded payments under the ARP between January & July and how landlords use the scheme to avoid tenancy obligations.

Proud to stand with a huge crowd in Dublin to resist the Fianna Fáil/ Fine Gael plans to install retail units in the GPO. The GPO is a sacred building in Ireland’s rebel history. The battle to save it is on! 🇮🇪
Scapaigí an scéal. Cavan-Monaghan public meeting on Defending Irish Nuetrality with Pearse Doherty, Wednesday 23 July at 7.30pm in the Errigal, Cootehill. The Irish Government wants to sleepwalk us into foreign wars of aggression. We say Fan Amach as Neodracht na hÉireann!
This inexplicable decision should be immediately reviewed by Minister O’Callaghan. Children travelling from Palestine to participate in GAA activities on short term visas deserve more than bureaucratic refusals as do those clubs that awaited their arrival. jrnl.ie/6757964
The Oireachtas Justice Commitee is this afternoon debating my amendment to delete the Kneecap clause from the Criminal Justice (Terrorist Offences) (Amendment) Bill 2025 to protect free speech and to include a provision to treat as terrorist those who would travel to join the IDF

Preparation for Reunification must begin now. New research confirms there are no economic barriers - only outdated myths. Irish Unity is an economic opportunity we must seize. It’s time the government stop sitting on the bench and plan for our shared future. #IrishUnity

Another opportunity for the government to come clean on student fees - and once again, they refused to answer. We’ll keep fighting to get students and their families the clarity they need - and the respect they deserve.

🤯 5 days on and they still won’t answer a simple question. The Taoiseach, Tánaiste, and a queue of senior Ministers won’t say how much are student fees in September. They won’t answer because they’re hiking them up by €1000. It’s no way to treat students and their families.
I will be be raising this important report on a United Ireland in the Dáil shortly. Its time for the Government to set out what they are going to do to start planning and preparing for a United Ireland!
NEW: ‘The Projected Public Finances of the Early Years of a United Ireland, and the Northern Ireland Subvention’ updated analysis with 2023 data and responding to debate and new information of recent years. Models public finances for the first 10 years of a united Ireland.
Student fees are going up €1000 in September - the FF Minister is very clear about that! Today in the Dáil the government refused to answer basic questions about this plan to shaft students. Total incompetence from government. Worry and stress for students and parents.
