Professor, writer, truth & grace seeker, Past-Pres @maanow. Opinions my own. Book: Mathematics for Human Flourishing (2020) @Math4HF https://amzn.to/3CLGCA5
I know there's a lot going on that's troubling right now, but here's a little ray of sun. Christopher Jackson and I were awarded the Euler Book Prize for @Math4HF at #JMM2021. Chris was especially thrilled. Here's the citation and our personal responses. Thanks @maanow

I’m moving to 🦋 and 🧵. By the way, there are tools to move your follows. Search on “[social media name] bridge”.
LA! Thanks @harveymudd for hosting me and giving me the opportunity to speak with your students. And what a joy & privilege to call @mathyawp my friend - thank you Francis for making this visit happen and for your generous hospitality.
Excited to bring Eddie Woo @misterwootube to @harveymudd on Monday!

Hey it's me Destin, from Smarter Every Day. Now that it's time to elect America's next leader, I would like to share something very interesting and important with you. I've been paying attention to this for a while, and I think if you look for it, you see it too. 🧵 1/n
In our new #ITCS2025 paper, Francis Su, Salil Vadhan, and myself initiate the study of the *randomness complexity of DP*. We focus on the task of one-way marginal queries, obtaining both upper and lower bounds via a (surprising?) connection to geometry! eccc.weizmann.ac.il/report/2024/16…
Differential Privacy (DP) inherently requires 🎲 to ensure the sensitive data stays private, in a rigorous, mathematical sense. So DP algos are randomized, by defn. But how much is needed to ensure privacy? One random bit? One gazillion? We didn't know! Until now. (Paper below)
The opening keynote address at the @nwmathconf was by Dr Francis Su who left us enchanted and hopeful with transformative ideas about what mathematics education can be. @mathyawp @BCAMT #NWmath2024
A must-watch to think about how to help our students — and ourselves — be mathematical explorers.
“Why do some people experience mathematics as joyful and creative, and other people don’t?” While in Sydney, I was interviewed by the math education program at the Australian Academy of Science for this short video about what math is. youtu.be/K5P7S0z4os4
