Great night last night at the Variety Children’s Charity Poker Tournament.

Everyone should watch this important press conference that @disabilityvoicesunited held today about the 35th anniversary of the ADA and the imminent cuts to services that affect us all. youtube.com/watch?v=8S9W3v…
My favorite response so far. Thanks for the laugh Mark.
Maybe your father just sucked did you ever think of that. The character Lou Grant was a product of the Mary Tyler Moore show wherein he was part of an excellent ensemble cast. Your pops just wasn’t good enough to carry his own show. I’m sorry the truth hurts you so.
Good point. But it is a tad different. They fired the star and kept the show going under a different name.
Did you mention Rosanne?
The only reason my father got any work after Lou Grant is because he refused to do what everyone wanted him to do. They wanted him to lay low and shut up. He got louder and he credited that with saving what was left of his career.
Paley got "Gilligan's Island" canceled to save his favorite show, "Gunsmoke," which ran until 1975. After "Lou Grant" got canceled, Ed Asner still found plenty of work without toning down his politics. Blaming Reagan is ridiculous.
Things definitely haven’t changed.
And then as now, a CBS flack lied about the show and denied the obvious...

CBS has a long track record of politically motivated cancellations. The latest is @StephenAtHome and @colbertlateshow. In 1969, they pulled the plug on The Smothers Brothers. @TheOnlyEdAsner’s Lou Grant was canceled while still ranking in the top 50. Shameful then. Shameful now.
