The Bowes Museum is an art gallery in the town of Barnard Castle, in County Durham. It was built to designs by Jules Pellechet and John Edward Watson to house the art collection of John Bowes and his wife Joséphine Benoîte Coffin-Chevallier, and opened in 1892.

Clinging to the hillside, Staithes was once a busting fishing village but is now a tourist hotspot. From the winding cobbled streets to the charming 18th century cottages, you’ll find this coastal village is full of character.

A boat trip a few weeks ago around the islands of Craigleith and the Bass Rock to see the world's largest colony of Northern Gannets and the odd Puffin, and Seal.
