This is a legitimate point of view, but I’d argue kids learn important life skills in sports. Accountability, hard work, resolving conflict, dealing with failure, managing your time, working with people you don’t always see eye to eye with, etc. All real-world skills.
School sports programs should be limited to intermural. Competitive programs can be privately run. These non-essential programs are an outsized drag on education dollars.
