🚒 Firefighters are currently dealing with a suspected chemical leak at an industrial building on Wellington Road, Greenfield. As a precaution, nearby residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed. Some surrounding roads also closed.

Good luck to the crew from Moss Side Green Watch, who are representing GMFRS at today's Regional Breathing Apparatus Challenge! They'll be up against crews from Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria at the event, which is taking place at Cheshire FRS Training School.

Today we’ve been with partners in Manchester city centre, to share important water safety information with businesses - including what to do if you see someone struggling in the water (call, tell, throw). The session included training on how to use a reach pole and throwline.

Tomorrow our crews and outreach team will be out and about to mark World #DrowningPrevention Day. Join us and partners at Salford Quays between midday-4pm, for interactive games, activities and demos. You might also spot us around Stockport town centre and Pennington Flash.

Ahead of World #DrowningPrevention Day, here's a reminder about what to do if you get into difficulty in water #FloatToLive: •Tilt your head back, ears submerged •Relax & try to breathe normally •Move your hands & legs •It's OK if your legs sink, we all float differently
