Hi, it’s me, with an exciting career update: Today is my first day at the @nypost, where I’ll be covering women’s sports. My first pro beat was the Sky at the Sun-Times back in 2019, and I’m thrilled to get to once again report on the WNBA as well as the NWSL and college hoops.

The lineup possibilities with Emma Meesseman are tantalizing. But just because her addition to the Liberty makes sense doesn’t guarantee it’ll work. "If it looks good on paper, that’s one thing. But now we have to make it work on the court." My column: nypost.com/2025/07/22/spo…
Leonie Fiebich on when she realized Jonquel Jones was back: "First play of the game. It's that easy." JJ opened the game with a corner 3.
Jonquel Jones said she felt good to be back tonight after her teammates held things down when she was sidelined. Jones said she feels her conditioning is at an 8 out of 10.
JJ has been bringing the ball up and she looks really speedy and comfortable.
Jonquel Jones knocks down a corner 3. She's back y'all. Liberty lead 3-0.
Sandy Brondello said Nyara Sabally had been dealing with "a little bit" of discomfort in her knee and with Jonquel Jones back, the Liberty felt not need to push her tonight especially considering New York has a back-to-back this week.
Sandy Brondello said she learned that Emma Meesseman committed during the All-Star game. She said a few teams were in the mix but it's "pretty special" to hear that she chose to come here.
Sandy Brondello called it a "happy day" that JJ is back. Brondello said there's no minutes restriction and is medically cleared to full go. But Brondello said team will be monitoring her throughout the game and want to ramp her up cautiously.
Liberty's second-half gauntlet begins. Here's where they stand.
Nyara Sabally has been downgraded to OUT for “rest” team says. Sabally didn’t participate in shootaround this morning because she was receiving treatment.
Liberty GM Jonathan Kolb emphasized that Emma Meesseman hasn't official signed a contract. She's just committed to the Liberty. There's no official date as to when she'll sign or play. The Liberty are trying to get the visa process done as quickly as possible.
Stewart con't on Meesseman addition: "Listen, we wanted to make this team better than it was last year. And I feel like now we have the pieces. We just have to put it together."
Breanna Stewart on the potency of a potential, versatile lineup featuring her, JJ, Leo and Meesseman: "We're checking a lot of boxes...If it looks good on paper, that's one thing. But now we have to make it work on the court and that's a challenge we're all...looking forward to."
Jonquel Jones on Emma Meesseman committing to the Liberty: "Emma is world class... It's really good to have her on the team. She's somebody that is great to play with and crazy to play against. So I'm happy that she's with us."
Jonquel Jones on Stephanie Talbot addition: "She's used to the system playing with Australia national team, so just watching her practice yesterday, she seems really comfortable in the system."
Jonquel Jones anticipates she'll be on a minutes restriction tonight -- her first game in a month -- but said to ask Sandy Brondello about the specifics.
