Hello @ellygriffiths & @QuercusBooks - are you aware there is an issue with @audibleuk & the first 4 Ruth books? I own them, but Audible persists in trying to make me pay if I want to re listen. It seems there is an issue you may want to get them to resolve (I’m giving up!).

Thank you to @alidapantone from #RAI for coming to @DickensMuseum yesterday. As I wrote about in my #book “Dickens and Travel”, Dickens loved Italy - as do I! He spent a year living in Genoa & travelling around the country, resulting in his second travelogue, Pictures from Italy.

Today is the opening of the brand new exhibition at the Charles Dickens Museum - “Showtime!” It explores the enduring appeal of Dickens’s writing, the many adaptations for stage & screen, as well as his own love for the theatre & acting. Yesterday was press day.

Iceland's largest whaling company, Hvalur hf., has CANCELLED its fin whale hunt for summer 2025! The economic reality of declining demand and a surplus of unsold meat has made commercial whaling unviable. Animals aren't commodities. The tide is turning. 🇮🇸👏

I loved this new statue of writer Aphra Behn unveiled earlier this year in Canterbury. “All women together ought to let flowers fall upon the tomb of Aphra Behn, for it was she who earned them the right to speak their minds.” Virginia Woolf, ‘A Room of One’s Own’.

Today is the final day of the 118th Dickens Fellowship conference. Yesterday I gave a talk on “Dickens and Unitarianism”. I had no idea, until I started researching it, just how many Unitarians Dickens knew! It’s been such a fun few days in the true spirit of “fellowship”.

For anyone who uses WeTransfer please note this very concerning new clause.

A gorgeous venue for the 118th annual #Dickens Fellowship conference. #Canterbury

Waiting to board the train to #Canterbury for the annual Dickens Fellowship Conference, which starts tomorrow. #Dickens

Last week I welcomed back to London, the lovely Fred-Ivar, founder of the Norwegian #Pickwick Club, of which I am lucky enough to be the patron. He & his family were slightly stunned by the #London heat. Not what they were expecting! #Dickens

No response from @ALDO_Shoes - and I cannot find any customer service details anywhere on their website. Can anyone else supply me with it? Thanks!
@ALDO_Shoes I bought these sunglasses from you on Tuesday. Within less than 30 minutes one of the arms had fallen off! It fell into the Thames as I was walking by. (So, river pollution, even more annoying) I cannot find your customer service email anywhere. Please provide it.
Such a happy memory from the #Jaipur #LitFest where I first met fellow #author Karim Alrawi, who has since become a much-cherished friend. He visited us from Canada just a few weeks ago. Read his #books! He is brilliant.
