I had 9 stories published this year but would be honored if you checked out these two for Nebula/Hugo/Locus consideration🙏 1) “Another Girl Under The Iron Bell” (horror romantasy novelette) uncannymagazine.com/article/anothe… 2) “Before We Were Born” (sci-fi short) logicmag.io/issue-21-medic…
Someone recently told me I should write more happy/optimistic endings if I want to leave a better impression on readers (“to have mass appeal”), but I want to believe it’s better to write stories that are loved by some + hated by others than ones that are “just fine” to everyone
Been thinking about how the best stories are the ones where the main character can just disappear for a quarter of the book/series and you don’t even care because you’re having such a good time with the side characters and world.

Today my book child is out in the world! Thank you for all the support! This is so surreal.
I have a new poem out in @theCosmicbgr! “Toba Catastrophe Theory” is one of the first spec poems I wrote and still has one of my favorite lines. So happy to see another magazine publishing spec poetry! thecosmicbackground.com/poetry/angela-…

Go read THE EYES ARE THE BEST PART by Monika Kim if you haven’t already. This book fixed my attention span—I’ve never finished a novel so fast. The REVENGE, the gasp-out-loud body horror, the toxic parents/intergenerational trauma—this is horror at its absolute best.
It’s out!! My cursed tattoo story “A Contract of Ink and Skin” is in here alongside some of the best weird stories of 2024 (with one of my favorite covers in recent memory)! Loved @AlexWoodroe's foreword and the idea of “a garden of Weird and wonder.” store.tenebrouspress.com/products/brave…
My poem, “High School Graduation, June 2099” is out today in the final issue of Worlds of Possibility! Loved @omgjulia's description for it: “queer solarpunk futures and the bittersweetness of coming of age.” Check it out here: juliarios.com/introducing-th…

I have a new sci-fi story out at @CastOfWonders (my first audio reprint!)! “KAOSU: The Last Moving Country In The World” is about dark tourism, influencer culture, and a train closed off from the outside world. castofwonders.org/2025/06/cast-o…
Strange Horizons has been one of the best spec magazines for more than two DECADES. They’ve supported diverse voices from the start and are always the first place I go for spec poetry. I’ve donated and if you love spec short fic/poetry, this is a great investment in its future.
📢 It's here! The Strange Horizons Fund Drive 2026 has begun! 📢 Help us raise the $20,000 we need to fund our fiction, poetry, and non-fiction for next year! Beyond that are amazing stretch goals including some compelling special issues! Donate ⬇️ kickstarter.com/projects/stran…
