Reshat Ametov, the first Ukrainian citizen and Qırımlı to be killed during the russian occupation of Crimea, was abducted during a protest and later tortured to death (youtu.be/11S2Vhkr-bc) This is a crime against humanity and a war crime involving deliberate killing.
Yantıq is one of my favorite Crimean Tatar dishes. It has a juicy meat of cheese filling in a thin dough that needs to be smeared with butter after cooking 😋
Currently, there are 218 known political prisoners, 132 of whom are indigenous Crimean Tatars. These people span all age groups and faiths. Most are held in critical conditions and face severe violations of their rights.
11 years ago, Russians downed flight MH-17, killing all passengers on board. Never forget.
Kitty Pechersk is a volunteer organization that produces camouflage nets and ghillie suits for Ukrainian defenders. If you’re in Kyiv and want to join, reach out to them! They also speak English, many foreigners volunteer here. I can also help teach anyone who’s interested :)
11 years ago, on April 21, 2014, when the people in Crimea had already been abducted and killed by russian special services, two flags were still hung on the building of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people: Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar. photo: @seitbullaieva
Today I was invited to @pustoproject to record a podcast episode about Crimea, Crimean Tatar identity, and my work in a Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar literary project. I was delighted and truly enjoyed participating there. Let's be the voice of Crimea on all available platforms! 🩵💛

Life under occupation: the FSB abducted a Crimean Tatar Khatidzhe Buyukhchan (24 y.o.) in May. They accused her of preparing a terrorist attack and ordered her family to remain silent about it! Later russians made her to "confess" on camera, presumably after threats and torture

russia is attempting to use @INTERPOL_HQ to arrest Crimean Tatars for their subsequent persecution. It recently came to light that several residents of Crimea have been detained based on requests from the russian federation via Interpol 👇🏻

When I was 10, I decided to switch to the Ukrainian language in daily life. This decision was bold for a child in mostly russian-speaking Crimea, but I really enjoyed speaking Ukrainian in school lessons. I thought that since we are citizens of Ukraine, it was the right decision.
«Miras. Heritage» exhibition in Kyiv. What a beauty 😍 One of the most representative collections of Crimean Tatar artifacts in continental Ukraine. The origin of the artifacts is associated with the activities of the iconic figures of national revival on the early 20th century
