someone on tumblr reminded me that Comic Fanfiction Authors Archive (CFAA) is a thing! It uses ao3's open-source software so it looks just like it, but it's limited to comics fandoms & has stricter rules about tagging! cfaarchive.org
The state of canon-based fanworks in the DC fandom is so dire, I've gone back to the LiveJournal/pre-ao3 tradition of creating giant fic lists/indexes cataloging every fic based in the canon universe I can find
