A big thank you to @VeoliaUK for their clean up blitz on the canalside between Great Western Road and Harrow Road. We're helping the @CanalRiverTrust deal with dumped rubbish & are collaborating on more volunteer litter picks to keep the canalside across @CityWestminster clean.

The Bakerloo Line is a vital transport route for our city, helping residents get to work or school and linking communities. Upgrades will boost the economy and help everyone get from A to B. I’m backing the Bakerloo, you can too : backthebakerloo.org.uk
Sweet success for @Citywestminster: the number of US candy stores on Oxford Street has dropped to the lowest ever figure of 16 from a pandemic high of 40. Seizures of unsafe goods plus relentless pursuit of unpaid business rates is making life tough for unscrupulous traders.

20 years ago four suicide bombers detonated devices near Aldgate, Edgware Road & Russell Square stations, killing 52 & injuring hundreds. We remember the victims, survivors & bravery of bystanders & emergency services. I will be at St Paul's Cathedral for a special service.

Windrush Day & the compelling stories that accompany it are a chance to acknowledge the contribution of the Caribbean community to @CityWestminster & the country. It's also a prompt to look to the future as we tackle inequalities that still remain in our society #windrushday2025
Eight years after the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire, our thoughts remain with the bereaved, survivors & community. Today is again the cue for everyone to reflect & make sure there can never be a repeat as the fight for justice & answers goes on.

A great pleasure to meet a range of companies today as we held our #FairerWestminster launch for the business community. From the property world to Business Improvement Districts & food importers, I was struck by the enthusiasm and appetite to engage with @CityWestminster
Pleased to work with the @thetimes @LyonsIzzy on an investigation which exposes the racket of snail farms in office blocks to avoid paying business rates. We'll follow the snail trail to ensure the public's money is protected thetimes.com/article/a9094a…
Our campaign to rid Oxford Street of unscrupulous candy stores has halved the number of shops. As I told @DailyMailUK for this investigation, while directors of these shops may shelter behind fake companies, we will keep enforcing to protect the public dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
The latest raid by @CityWestminster trading standards on unscrupulous candy stores after tourists were charged £899 for two packets of sweets made international news. I talked to @BelleTimsit @washingtonpost about our ongoing campaign to protect the public washingtonpost.com/world/2025/05/…
I was joined by @LM_Westminster, @CityWesminster chief executive Stuart Love & fellow councillors David Boothroyd, Ellie Ormsby, Paul Swaddle & Mark Shearer to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2 in Europe. We raised the #VEDay80 flag to fly above City Hall.

It was an honour to sign the book of condolence for @Pontifex along with @LM_Westminster at @WestminsterCath. Pope Francis was an inspirational figure & the strength of feeling for him is clear across Westminster and in this beautiful cathedral in the heart of our City.

On behalf of @CityWestminster & @leader_wcc Cllr Adam Hug I would like to express our great sadness at the death of Pope Francis @Pontifex. An inspirational figure on the world stage & our thoughts with Catholic Community of Westminster & @WestminsterCath in the heart of our City
We joined up with the @DailyMailUK investigations team for today's feature which casts a spotlight on the shady ownership practices behind candy stores & wizard shops. We'll keep working to protect consumers & the West End. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
This is a difficult day on which we remember those who died, suffered & continue to suffer from Covid. It was a period when the communities of Westminster pulled together to support each other in the most extraordinary way #COVIDreflectionday dayofreflection.campaign.gov.uk
At @CityWestminster we have worked hard over the last few months to ensure the issues important to local people & businesses are reflected in the Mayor's transformation plans for Oxford Street. We need to ensure the street has a bright future. westminster.gov.uk/news/westminst…
Just attended the interfaith prayer service for peace at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Westminster with @leader_wcc. This service brought so many together & I hope the Ukrainians who fled their country 3 years ago felt the strength of support for them @UkrEmbLondon @UCC_UK
