Today we remember George Herbert (1593-1633), a poet and priest of the Church of England. ‘The Temple’ is a book of poems written by Herbert. His poems explore religion and spirituality, and make interesting use of the book as a form. #LambethPalaceLibrary #EasterWings #Printed

Today we celebrate the Presentation of Christ in the Temple (Candlemas). This miniature comes from a Book of Hours, produced in the 1470s and donated to Lambeth Palace Library from the Blavatnik Honresfield Library by the Friends of the National Libraries, 2022. [MS 5204 f. 72v]
