people who were living through the 90s felt like it was the end of history. and in a strange way that i’m only just beginning to really understand, they had a point.
Simple reasons why there have been so few big software companies for high finance: - if it's alpha generating, the firm will build and maintain it themselves. - if it isn't alpha generating, it's part of the 2 (not the 20) which is zero sum, and focused on alpha generators.
