If you assume that trade deals are mainly about getting tax (tariff) revenue for the state, then calling the US-EU trade deal, assuming it lasts, a win sort of makes sense. But if you think about the economy and who pays more, American consumers will pay more than European ones.
Fewer than 400 electric vehicle chargers were built with $7.5 billion in federal infrastructure funding, which comes out to more than $19 million per charger, a non-partisan watchdog agency found. | @jameslynch32 trib.al/iVPMlyt
Sorry. This post was an accident. Meant to suggest that there are more options available than those presented here.
Peter Thiel said there are three visions of the future and none of them is particularly good or inspiring: Greta Thunberg environmentalism, Islamism, or Chinese surveillance state. I think the new American tech renaissance provides an inspiring fourth option.

I agree. Prices going up in sectors of the economy, even if they are many, will drive up prices in those sectors, but by themselves they will not cause overall inflation. Thanks for pointing out the difference. But tariff-induced price increases still cause higher prices.
Are tariffs inflationary? Strictly speaking, no, or at least not by much. Could tariffs have secondary implications that, along with other factors, lead to inflationary pressures? Potentially yes. But that includes repercussions that depend on how the Fed chooses to respond to…
White House insiders tell us one of the few policies that Trump actually believes in is tariffs. And yet one of the reasons why stock traders don’t panic over tariffs, and continue to trade despite the drag of tariffs, is they don’t take Trump’s statements on tariffs seriously.
Toyota is up +8% on the news of a 15% tariff. Why? It's simple. Ford, GM, Tesla, and all the other American manufacturers are going to be paying 50% more for their steel, 50% more for their copper, 25% more for their Canadian production, 25% more for their Mexican production,…
Fox: General Motors shares T-boned by tariffs. The stock is diving 7% after the auto giant reported a 32% slump in quarterly profits due to a $1.1 billion hit from the tariffs, which GM says will worsen in the current quarter
Canada slapped 25% retaliatory tariffs on U.S. spirits and cleared them off the shelves. Sales plunged 65% in weeks. Trade wars don’t just hit producers, they hurt workers, small businesses, and consumers on both sides of the border. wsj.com/livecoverage/s…
So how is that re-industrializing America plan going? What makes it doubly bad is that American consumers and importers are actually paying for it all.

Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence has examined a new Russian reconnaissance UAV used to detect Ukrainian air defenses — nearly all major components are made in China. Specifically, the fuselage and blocks, a Chinese copy of the data transmission module, the controller with…
Ed Feulner didn’t just build up institutions, he cultivated a movement. In today’s @WSJ, Vice President @Mike_Pence reflects on his friend, mentor, and the timeless values Ed Feulner fought to preserve.
We objected in principle when Obama used his presidential authority to do such things. But when Trump does the same thing, what do conservatives do? So much of what Trump does is doubling down as a form of retribution. on methods first deployed by progressives. But is it right?
I’m old enough to remember when Barack Obama and other Democrats pressured the Indians and the Redskins to change their names despite Native Americans not having a problem. So spare me your outrage that Trump is pressing them to change again.
Please note the role of China, and if you care about that, please stop treating countering Russia as some domestic political option rather than as a strategic necessity.
Russia intends to launch up to 2,000 drones over Ukraine in one night, Bundeswehr Major General Christian Freuding said. Freuding: China completely reoriented its exports to Russia. Ukraine needs cheap means of combating UAVs or striking deep into Russia. 1/
I know politicians lie and stretch the truth all the time, but I must say: Tariffs will not pay off the deficit or debt, and they are paid by US importers and the extra cost is passed onto to American consumers, not foreigners. They are US taxes imposed on Americans. Facts.
Yes, that’s true. Same can be said for those on the right who claim to be “common good” conservatives. Different aims to be sure, but they employ the same principle that leads to a loss of liberty.
🧵 1/ Marxism inspires people to wield government’s coercive power against their fellow citizens—inevitably causing immense harm—all while insisting that the harm is justified because “it’s for their own good”
Ed Feulner was a giant in the American conservative movement. For him, it was ultimately about ideas. His last article on the future of the movement should be must reading. He was a compassionate and inspiring leader, a devoted husband and father, and I will miss him greatly.
This morning the House overwhelmingly voted to continue providing military support to Ukraine by a 353-76 vote.
This is one of the many things that if not reversed will lead America down a path of national decline. The other is bullying friends and allies while coddling its enemies and rivals.
