Ordinals might seem dead now but when BTC stagnates during "alt cycle", things will change. I got a feeling those BTC whales/institutions will try to promote art on the mother chain and position BTC as not just a store of value but also a culture chain to bring back hype.

Never underestimate the innate need for humans to flex. Once the cycle starts to pick up, NFTs as the best social signal and indicator that "you made it" this cycle will have its day. PFPs first, then people get more altruistic and buy art.
