Such an awesome front page for the Seattle Times Ichiro HOF section.
"Music is from the heart. And you can be the best, you can be what you wanna be. That’s right! You can do what you wanna do. I believe I’m a blues player. I never been a millionaire, but I think I am. Cause I got this." -Hubert Sumlin

Coming in Sunday’s Seattle Times in another exclusive Ichiro cover, this by local artist Shogo Ota - who also did the official Seattle World Cup poster a few months ago! @SeaTimesSports 🗞️@Mariners
Andrew Toney the Boston Strangler “Johnson fills one or most important needs. We got a strong defensive guard who avg. 14.2 pts last season. We now have a big guard who can play the big guards like Magic & Reggie Theus” Auerbach on Dennis Johnson trade in 1983

Great story about Mel
When I took the @pacers job, my knowledge of the @nba was rudimentary. I always had questions, Mel never ran out of patience, and always had time for me. He was as responsible as anyone for my early transition, although he did damn near break my hand the first time we shook. 🤣
The #Phillies are the first team to win a game on a walk-off catcher interference since the #Dodgers beat the #Reds on Aug. 1, 1971.
I know it’s a comedy but where is the lie….? Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.

Now this was a player the @Pacers I was excited for. Hated to see Antonio Davis go in the trade with the Raptors but wow the potential upside

Indiana Athletics mourns the loss of Bob Hammel, legendary journalist & member of the IU Athletics Hall of Fame.
From Rick Barry… “Alex Hannum was crazy. We went to Tahoe after my rookie year. I got on 1 ski behind his boat. He got it up to 60 mph and nearly killed me! Sharman was the new coach so I asked him “Would you have pulled me that fast if you were my coach?” He said “Hell no!”😄
1967 @sixers one of the Greatest Teams in NBA history !!! You’ll love the spirit of the Sixers. Watch them fast-break down the floor. @PeterVecsey1
They are deeply inadequate, but I tried to put into words not just what Bob Hammel’s friendship meant to me, but what he represented to IU, college basketball and our little corner of the world. He was connective tissue for all of us across generations: indystar.com/story/sports/c…
This is so 🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!
Indiana Fever recognize all of their previous All-Stars during the timeout. So well done 👏
