John Mozeliak's trade deadline plans remain fluid, but... "Where we are in the standings definitely affects our decision-making moving forward," he said. An update on where things currently stand for the #STLCards: nytimes.com/athletic/65076…
It's a *top of the foot* contusion for Burleson, who underwent X-rays at Coors Field. Imaging came back clean. He's been diagnosed with a contusion, is day-to-day, but is in a considerable amount of pain.
The Cardinals bounce back with a much-needed win, beat the Rockies 6-2. Michael McGreevy logged a quality start with seven innings of two-run ball. We'll await word on Alec Burleson, who left the game after fouling a ball off his knee in the seventh. #STLCards

Michael McGreevy battled through some soft contact and bad luck, but the Rockies tagged him for two runs in the bottom of the third. His offense gets those runs right back. Willson Contreras homered, Nolan Arenado doubled and Masyn Winn doubled him home to make this a tie game.

What we’re hearing about the Cubs’ plans for the trade deadline (story with @sahadevsharma): nytimes.com/athletic/65056…
Our entire 2025 Draft class has been signed. #STLCards
The #STLCards are swept by the D-backs to start the second half. They have lost 10 of 14 games in July. They're two games over .500, are 3.5 out of the NL wild card. The SP's have a collective ERA over 7.00 this month. Sure feels like this next series will dictate deadline plans.
I'm not sure where McGreevy will slot into, but I do think there's a push to keep him in the rotation full time. Unclear if that will actually happen. There are no plans to skip Fedde's starts going forward.
Do we think he stays this time and slots into fedde’s next start after the one in Colorado?
#STLCards rotation changes: Michael McGreevy will spot start Monday in COL. St. Louis will skip Matthew Liberatore’s next turn, he’ll pitch next weekend against SD. Org wanted to give Libby, who will surpass his career innings this year, extra rest coming out of the break.
As expected, Nolan Gorman hits the IL (back) retroactive to 7/18. Thomas Saggese is back up. #STLCards
Nolan Gorman was scratched from today’s lineup (back). He was unavailable the day before the All-Star break for the same reason. And a coverage note: I’m not in AZ this weekend, will rejoin the team in Denver. Enjoy the series!
